Prodeko,
the Guild of Industrial Engineering and Management at Aalto University, has
organized a special entrepreneurship-themed project for eighteen carefully
selected students. The project, Prodeko Goes USA 2015, includes a specific
course, practical assignments with partner companies and a study trip to USA.
The project is an excellent opportunity for students to gain international
business experience while earning study credits.
The team tours
USA between August 14th and September 6th. During their
journey the team will deepen their knowledge on the unique business landscape
and academia in America and learn more about entrepreneurial mindset both in
startups and large corporations. The trip will take students to New York,
Seattle, San Francisco, Silicon Valley and Los Angeles. Among the main
corporate partners are Microsoft, Finnair, Nokia and McKinsey & Company.
The project
started in March as the students attended a special course on entrepreneurship
that was based on intensive workshops with guest lecturers. As a part of the
project the team has also formed assignment groups which have been executing studies
into the operations of the partner companies’ businesses. The intent is to
provide the corporate partners with valuable deliverables, learn in the process
of doing so, and getting to know some of the personnel in the companies. Before
the trip the team has also been visiting the partner companies’ offices in
Finland.
